What is Termux?

Termux is an Android terminal emulator that works without any additional setup or root access. Simply put, you can turn your phone into a Linux PC to use Linux-based apps. A minimal core application is installed by default. This tool is available on Google Play Store and fdroid. This tool is free to use and has no ads of any kind, which is why many people recommend termux for Android.

What is Kali Linux (Nethunter)

Kali Linux is a Debian-derived Linux distribution designed for digital forensics and penetration testing. Kali Linux consists of a collection of tools and packages that provide the essentials for an attacker. Before installing Kali Linux, you need to make sure that your device meets the basic system requirements.

Installing Kali with Termux (no root required)

You can access Kali Linux on your Android phone using some apps. In this article, through the ownership of Termux, I told you how you can install and use Kali Linux on your Android phone using Termux VNC viewer without rooting your Android. .

So, if you really want to download and use Kali Linux OS on your Android phone, then carefully understand this article and follow my Step by Step

Step 1Download the Termux app

  • First, open the F-Droid.org Website / App on your Android phone.
  • Search for the Termux app.
  • And install it on your Android phone by clicking the Download button
  • And it will download to your phone.

Note: It’s safe because you downloaded it from Google Playstore and every app you get from Playstore is safe.

Step 2Download the VNC Viewer application

  • First, open Google PlayStore on your Android phone.
  • Search for VNC Viewer.
  • And install it on your Android phone by clicking the install button
  • And it will download to your phone.

Note: It’s safe because you downloaded it from Google Playstore and every app you get from Playstore is safe.

Step 3 – Open Termux and Type Commands

  • First, open the Termux app on your phone
  • This automatic installation and setup of some packages will take some time.
  • After fully starting the termux,
  • Enter the commands I mentioned one by one –
apt update && apt upgrade -y
termux-setup-storage
pkg install wget -y

Step 5 – Download Kali Nethunter using Termux

Note: The Next command will start downloading the Kali Linux image to your Android, which is about 1.5 GB, so you should have that much internet package. and it takes a while depending on your internet speed.

Now we need to install NetHunter and here we will use the wget package to install this NetHunter using the following command as shown below:

wget -O install-nethunter-termux https://offs.ec/2MceZWr

To check if we have the nethunter installer, type the following command as shown below:

ls

We need to grant permission to run the file we downloaded earlier using the wget command and for that type the following command as below:

chmod +x install-nethunter-termux

To see if we have granted the appropriate permission to execute, we can use the ls command again and the file will turn green as shown below:

Enter the following command as shown below by running the previous file that we granted permission to:

./install-nethunter-termux

After using the above command it will check the device structure as well as the package dependencies. Now it will install Kali Linux from NetHunter (images.kali.org) and you need 1.4 GB+ internet data to download the file. The file took 20+ minutes for me to download and it automatically unzips after downloading. After successful installation, you will get the screen as shown in the image

⭕️ Wait 20 Minutes Download Full Packages 1.4GB  ⭕️
Wait For Download and Extract Full Files and Folder
♻️ don’t stop downloading & don’t exit termux ♻️

Step 6 – Set a Password for VNC Viewer

After installing Kali Linux we need to connect VNC Viewer to Kali Linux so first set the password for VNC Viewer, Set the nethunter key password, and follow these commands –

nethunter kex passwd

Create a password and verify your password again. The passwords you entered here will not be displayed, but you will have to enter them.

Step 7 – Turn ON the VNC Server

Now we need to enable the VNC server to connect to the VNC viewer, so follow the commands –

nethunter kex &

After that, an interface will appear in front of you, in which the 4-digit port number will be written to you.
So just rabaimber this port number or copy it.

Step 8Connect VNC viewer to Kali Linux

Now we need to run our Kali Linux on the VNC Viewer for GUI so follow the steps –

    • First, open the VNC viewer application
    • Then you will see the Plus icon, click on it.
    • Then a dialogue box will open where you have to fill 2 items –
      • IP address
      • Computer name
  • Enter the IP address –
IP Address127.0.0.1:____ (type here your post number) 127.0.0.1:1
Computer NameType here any name according to yourself
  • Tap Connect
  • Enter password.
  • And now you can use Kali Linux on your Android without root.

It will ask you to enter your VNC server credentials as shown in the image below and you need to enter your password which is generated after the successful installation of NetHunter.

And Root Password: kali

This way you can easily install and use Kali Linux on your Android. If there is a problem, you can tell me in the comments and I will definitely help you.

Step 9 – Turn OFF the VNC Server Sessions

Now we need to Off the VNC server &  the VNC viewer, so follow the commands –

nethunter kex stop

After that, a Stop VNC Server exit & close termux

Step 10 – Run Kali Linux Termux Command Line Interface

Now Run NetHunter Termux Command Line Interface, so follow the commands –

nethunter

Run NetHunter Root User Command Line Interface

nethunter -r

Tips:

  1. Run sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y The first thing after installation is to update Kali. If you have enough storage space, you may also want to run sudo apt install -y kali-linux-default.
  2. All penetration testing tools should work, but some may have limitations, eg Metasploit works but doesn’t have database support. If you find any tools that don’t work, please post them on our forum.
  3. Some tools like “top” won’t work on non-rooted phones.
  4. Non-root users still have root access in chroot. That’s a valid point. Just be aware of that.
  5. Galaxy phones can prevent non-root users from using sudo. Use “su -c” instead.
  6. Perform regular backups of your rootfs by stopping all nethunter sessions and typing the following in a termux session: tar -cJf kali-arm64.tar.xz kali-arm64 && mv kali-arm64.tar.xz storage/downloads This will save the backup in the android downloads folder . Note: on older devices change “arm64” to “armhf”
  7. Join us on our forums, share tips and ideas, and become part of a community that strives to make NetHunter even better.

Note:- Whatever method I have told you to install Kali Linux Android, Education Purpose said that this method is completely safe because you are doing all this with the permission of your device.
